iFast Financial Translations Workstream
A typical end-to-end workstream for high-stakes financial translation (annual reports, financial statements, regulatory filings, prospectuses, investor presentations, audit reports, etc.) prioritizes accuracy, consistency of terminology, regulatory compliance, confidentiality, and auditability.
1. Request for Quotation (RFQ), Project Intake & Scoping
- Receive source files and client brief via our website’s RFQ form or email including target languages, critical deadlines, style guide, reference materials and confidentiality requirements
- Perform file analysis including word count, complexity, format, number of tables/charts and embedded text
- Risk assessment regarding confidentiality level, legal exposure and market-sensitive information. For sensitive projects, an NDA will be executed, and a secure workspace will be ensured
- Agree on Deliverables: project plan, timeline, resource allocation, certification, final delivery specifics – InDesign, Word, PowerPoint, Excel or PDF, quotation and payment schedule confirmation
2. Preparation & Terminology Management
- Pre-translation formatting and typesetting when the source files provided by clients are not directly editable
- Terminology: extract and align key terms against existing client or industry glossaries. Create bilingual termbase to agree on preferred terms, forbidden terms, currency formatting, date formats and number conventions. Identify regulated content, e.g., IFRS/GAAP terminology, SEC/ESMA filings, local regulatory language.
- Set up CAT tool environment including Trados, memoQ and Phrase with locked segments or pre-translation from TM, and QA profiles
3. Translation
- Your project will be handled by professional native-speaking translators with extensive experience in financial translation. We believe in collaborative, human-to-human quality, so we welcome all your feedback and comments throughout the process. Primary translator(s) with proven financial domain expertise and native-level target language skills as well as ACCA, CFA or equivalent qualifications
- Work in CAT tool with real-time termbase and TM leverage. Strict adherence to style guide, number/currency formatting rules, and regulatory phrasing. Flag ambiguities or culturally sensitive financial concepts for clarification
4. Bilingual Review and Editing
- An independent linguist with same language pair, financial specialization performs full comparative review against source
- Key areas for checking include terminological consistency, numerical accuracy, completeness, register, localisation and regulatory correctness to ensure perfect alignment of figures, tables, and charts after translation
5. Quality Assurance, Formatting & Final Preparation
- Translator(s) to proofread to cross-check all numbers, tags, terminology, consistency, formatting, missing or extra content, all tables, page numbers. charts, footnotes, and cross-references before sign-off
6. Client Review & Finalization
- Client or legal counsel review window. Revisions are typically managed efficiently via email, allowing clear tracking and quick responses
- Incorporate feedback with full version control with unlimited updates upon client requests
- Update central terminology resources for future projects
7. Delivery & Final Confirmation
- When all steps are complete and you've approved the final files, our project manager will deliver the translated documents and request your confirmation of job completion.
- If we don't hear back any further comments within 2–3 days, we'll consider the project accepted. A final invoice will then be issued, with payment due within 14 days of receipt.
